Supplementary food for dogs
Cells can burn either sugar or fat to produce energy. Since sugar can be processed twice as fast, the body always reaches for sugar first and then fat. During digestion, nutrients are broken down in the dog's organism. Carbohydrates are broken down into sugar molecules and fatty acids are formed from fat. The formation of fatty acids produces glycerol, which is either burned directly or converted to glucose. Glucose not immediately required by the body is either stored as glycogen in the muscle cells or, in the event of a glucose oversupply, converted into body fat and stored as a fat depot.
The sugar store in dogs lasts for approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour during exercise (e.g. cycling), after which the body switches from burning sugar to burning fat. The dog's sugar store must be replenished no later than 1 hour after exercise. Complete replenishment of the store is not possible after this time period. The dog's performance cannot be 100% retrieved the following day without a fully replenished sugar store.

Feeding recommendation:
We recommend to mix the powder (30 g per 20 kg dog) together with some water in the ICEPAW Shaker without lumps (shake well) and then mix with fresh drinking water. Optionally, the powder can also be given together with the daily food.
