ICEPAW Green Lipped Mussel Powder is a natural product. It is obtained 100% from the New Zealand green-lipped mussel (Perna canaliculus). We only use green-lipped mussel in pure full-fat quality. Our processed mussel meat is therefore not defatted. All important nutrients such as glycosaminoglycans, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids are therefore retained and are not lost in the processing process. High-quality green-lipped mussel products contain 2-3% glycosaminoglycans. Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) are considered to be cartilage protective substances and are able to bind water. They are the most important nutrient of the green-lipped mussel. GAG's are multiple sugars which are a natural component of the joint fluid, cartilage and connective tissue of the dog. GAG's, including hyaluronic acid, heparin and chondroitin sulfate serve as lubricants in the synovial fluid and provide elasticity to the articular cartilage.
Green-lipped mussel powder is ideal for feeding to dogs with high activity levels, in old age or during the growth phase, when it makes sense to promote the build-up of synovial fluid. The lubricating properties of the synovial fluid can decrease. Fewer glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) automatically means less resilience because less water is bound in the tissue. Supplementing with green lipped mussel powder can support supple joints in dogs of all ages.

Feeding recommendation:
small dogs 0.5 teaspoon daily
large dogs 1 teaspoon daily
If necessary, the amount can be doubled. Feed several times a year over a period of at least 8 weeks.
