Fish has very high-quality, easily digestible muscle meat and, like meat, contains all the indispensable protein building blocks (amino acids). Fish contains hardly any indigestible components and is therefore very easy to digest. Due to the particularly tender structure of fish and its low connective tissue content, it is broken down much more quickly in the stomach, is therefore easier to digest than meat and quickly supplies the body with important nutrients. Each type of fish has its own special characteristics, especially when it comes to fat and vitamin content. Fatty fish such as herring, salmon or mackerel, for example, are rich in vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids.

Many ICEPAW products contain herring as a fish species. Herring, also called "the silver of the sea", is rich in protein, fat and healthy omega-3 fatty acids. With a fat content of about 17%, it is one of the fattiest fish. A large part of the fat content consists of the vital omega-3 fatty acids. With just under 2 g per 100 g, herring is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids. The long-chain polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids, such as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), are particularly valuable for dogs. They play an important role in brain development and vision and can have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, kidney function and inflammatory processes in the dog's body.
